Healthy, Vibrant Looking Skin
Dr. Mark H. Schwartz and his team work with their patients to achieve clear, radiant skin with an overall refreshed appearance. Many patients have noticeable signs of aging but do not yet need or desire surgery. Minimally invasive injectable treatments and medical grade skin care are ideal for addressing fine lines, wrinkles, and pigment irregularities without the time and financial commitment of surgery.
Manhattan board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Schwartz offers a wide range of non-surgical treatments:
Wrinkle Relaxers: Botox, Dysport and Xeomin
Wrinkle relaxers such as Botox Cosmetic, Dysport, or Xeomin are one of the safest and most effective ways to smooth wrinkles and fine lines around the forehead, around the eyes, and the worry lines between the eyebrows. These injections work by causing the underlying muscles to temporarily relax and smooth the overlying skin. Having treatments every three to four months can maintain a more youthful, rested and pleasant facial expression.
Botox for Excessive Sweating
Botox can be injected into the underarms to control excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). The product blocks the nerves that stimulate sweat glands to dramatically reduce the amount of sweat produced. Routine follow-up treatments keep excessive sweating at bay.
Dermal Fillers
Juvederm XC and Restylane
Juvederm and Restylane are dermal fillers designed to restore volume to the skin and smooth wrinkles and folds. They are composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that adds volume. These dermal fillers are commonly used to minimize the appearance of nasolabial folds, marionette lines and the area underneath the eyes.
Juvederm Voluma
Juvederm Voluma is specifically formulated to add volume to the mid-face. It may be injected into the apex or apples of the cheeks to add natural looking youthful-looking fullness. It may also be used to define a slack jawline.
Juvederm Vollure
Juvederm Vollure XC is a hyaluronic gel filler. It is used for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and can last up to 18 months. It is formulated with Allergan’s patented Vycross technology that blends the filler molecules for a smooth, long-lasting, and natural result.
Juvederm Volbella
Juvederm Volbella is specifically designed to add subtle volume to the lips and smooth the appearance of fine vertical lip lines.
Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable filler that restores fullness to facial folds, creases and areas that need volume. Unlike Juvederm, Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a safe and biocompatible substance.
Belotero
Belotero is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that provides volume and enhances the youthful shape of the face. It is most used to smooth the fine lines of the face such as the lines around the mouth, frown lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
Radiesse
Radiesse is a volumizing filler that can be injected into the nasolabial folds, cheeks and along the jawline. It reduces moderate to severe facial wrinkles and creases in the treated area. It can also be used to restore the youthful appearance of the hands.
Kybella
Kybella is designed to reduce excess fat underneath the chin (i.e., a “double chin”). When injected, Kybella’s active ingredient (deoxycholic acid) permanently breaks down the fat, which is then carried out of the body as waste.
Ultherapy
Ultherapy is an FDA-approved non-surgical treatment to lift saggy or drooping skin, namely on the browline, chin and neck. It utilizes ultrasound energy to trigger collagen production and improve the facial contours. Ultherapy is ideal for the patient that has noticeable signs of aging, but doesn’t require surgical intervention.
Fat Grafting
Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer or liposculpture, is a process that involves taking surplus fat from one area of the body, preparing it and injecting it into the face to add volume and restore a youthful appearance. It is performed to treat sunken cheeks, temples, facial lines and other areas that have lost fullness.
Scar Revision
Scar revision reduces the appearance of raised, red, indented or otherwise abnormal scars. The specific method used depends on the size, location and severity of the scar.
Mole Removal
Moles, or growths of pigmented cells, can be surgically excised for clearer skin. The mole tissue can also be sent to a pathologist for possible skin cancer testing.
